Let your family use your homelab
One link, a sign-in they already have, and only the apps you pick.
You'll need
- Your apps already added to Seawise.io
- The email addresses of the people to invite
- A free Seawise.io account
Step by step
Already have your apps on Seawise.io? This takes a couple of minutes. If not, set that up first.
Make a portal called Family
In seawise.io, go to Portals and click New Portal. Tick the apps this group should open, and leave everything else off.
Add the people
Open the portal's sharing settings and add each person's email. Only those people can get in.
Remove an email any time and that person loses access within 30 seconds.
Send them the link
Copy the portal link and send it however you like. They sign in with the email you added, using Google, GitHub or an email link, and see only the apps on this portal. Nothing to install.
If something's not working
Mom says she can't get in+
She has to sign in with the exact email you added. If she used Sign in with Google, check which Google account she picked.
They see the app but it asks for another login+
That's the app's own login, like Jellyfin's. Create a user for them inside the app too, or use a shared family user.
The link doesn't work on the TV app+
Seawise.io's sign-in happens in a browser. On a smart TV, use its browser, or make the app public (Admin plan) so the TV app can connect with the app's own login.
