Sharing guide

Share work with clients

A client portal for your staging site or tool, on your own domain if you like.

About 5 minutes·Needs the Admin plan

You'll need

  • The staging site or tool added to Seawise.io
  • Your client's email addresses
  • Admin plan for your own domain and logo

Step by step

Already have your apps on Seawise.io? This takes a couple of minutes. If not, set that up first.

1

Make a portal called Acme Co

In seawise.io, go to Portals and click New Portal. Tick the apps this group should open, and leave everything else off.

An app can be on more than one portal, so you can give different groups different mixes.
2

Add the people

Open the portal's sharing settings and add each person's email. Only those people can get in.

Remove an email any time and that person loses access within 30 seconds.

3

Send them the link

Copy the portal link and send it however you like. They sign in with the email you added, using Google, GitHub or an email link, and see only the apps on this portal. Nothing to install.

If something's not working

The client sees a sign-in page and is confused+

Tell them to sign in with the work email you invited. They can use Google, GitHub or an email link, with no account to set up first.

Your staging site redirects to localhost+

Your framework is building links from its own address. Set its public or base URL to the app's Seawise.io address, or to your custom domain.

You want the link to look like yours+

On the Admin plan, put the portal on your own domain, like review.youragency.com, and add the client's logo.

Try it on your own server.
